ALTADENA, Los Angeles County — October 31, 2026. With the general election set for Tuesday, November 3, Altadena voters have several ways to check where to vote or return a ballot. That is particularly important for households whose mailing addresses or routines changed following the 2025 Eaton Fire. The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk maintains live online lookup tools; this guide does not assume that any particular neighborhood building is operating as a vote center.
Find a current vote center rather than relying on an old address
Start at the county’s official elections portal and select Find a Vote Center, or use the county’s Vote Center locator. Verify the selected center’s address and operating dates before heading out. The county also has a Find My Election Information page for ballot and voter details. Do not assume a former polling location or a nearby school is automatically available.
Returning a completed ballot
According to the Registrar’s vote-by-mail instructions, voters can return their completed ballot by mail without postage, at an official county ballot drop box, or at an LA County vote center. Ballot drop boxes close at 8 p.m. on Election Day, the county says. Before returning a ballot, place it in the official return envelope, seal it, and sign and date the back.
For ballots sent by mail, county guidance says a ballot must be postmarked by Election Day and received within seven days. With November 3 so close, voters should not assume a mail delivery will arrive by a particular time; they can compare in-person return options on the county website.
If your ballot is missing or an address changed
The Registrar says voters can request a replacement mail ballot for a temporary address, but its posted standard replacement-request deadline for this election was October 27. Someone who has not received a ballot should therefore use the county’s voter and vote-center information now rather than assume a standard replacement can be mailed in time. Contact the Registrar for the options available in your specific circumstances.
The county also provides a free Where’s My Ballot tracking service and a vote-by-mail status lookup to help confirm whether a returned ballot has been received or counted.
Help in another language
LA County says it provides election language services and assistance in up to 18 languages. The Registrar lists 800-815-2666, option 3 for requests involving ballots or election materials in another language.
